Is there mold, mildew or moisture on the walls or other surfaces?

If you smell a musty odor in your home, there is a good chance that it is probably mold or mildew.  The bad news is, most of the toxic mold floating around in our air is actually invisible to the naked eye, but still may be seriously affecting your health. Doctors warn against breathing in mold over long periods of time.  People who spend time in such environments sometimes complain of respiratory effects, headaches, and other physical symptoms. The most common health problem is an allergic reaction. Other problems are respiratory and/or immune system responses including respiratory symptoms, respiratory infections, exacerbation of asthma, and rarely hypersensitivity pneumonitis, allergic alveolates, chronic rhinosinusitis and allergic fungal sinusitis. If mold is growing in your home, you need to clean up the mold and fix the moisture problem. Keep humidity levels as low as you can—no higher than 50%--all day long. Be sure your home has enough ventilation. Planning on doing battle with mold and mildew? Make sure you have these cleaning tools on hand.

Good, also be sure your bathroom stays well ventilated. Clean the fabrics in your home routinely and keep them dry.
