Lux International announces the signing of an agreement with the international non-governmental organisation SOS Children's Villages for a worldwide partnership, to provide support to orphans and vulnerable children around the world.
Lux International is dedicated to its mission to create healthy homes and happy futures for families around the world. Lux not only offer innovations for a healthier, happier life at home for its customers, it also aims at securing a happy, healthy home for families and children in need.
In the current financial crisis that hit emerging and developing nations and their population in particular, the necessity to support families and children in need and securing their future is more important than ever. To assume this social responsibility, Lux chose SOS Children's Villages as its partner to create homes for children.
SOS Children's Villages provide orphaned and abandoned children with permanent homes in a stable, caring environment. Rejecting the idea of orphanage institutions, SOS Children's Villages are based on family-like structures. Children experience security, closeness and a safe childhood. Lux is active in 30 countries where SOS Children's Villages is currently running projects.
The first project under this partnership is the SOS Children's Village Iloilo in the Philippines. Here, Lux is financing the "Family Budget" of the Lux-Family houses, each inhabited by around ten children and one mother. The support by Lux ensures the nutrition, clothing, school material and activities for the children.
Additional to the company donations by the head office of Lux International SA in Switzerland, the units in Germany, Spain, France, Austria, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Russia, Finland, Norway and Sweden are participating in the support for SOS Children's Villages.
